Prof. James Boedicker (USC)

Cell-cell interactions and the emergent properties of bacterial networks

Bacteria live in complex and highly diverse communities. There has been growing interest within the biophysics community to understand the emergent behaviors of such cellular networks. I will discuss recent approaches to examine microbial community interactions and the consequences of these interactions on the large-scale properties of cellular populations. The talk will highlight work from my group on signal and gene exchange within bacterial communities.

This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
