We're excited to invite you to the premiere of the Consortium for Gender, Sexuality, Race and Public Culture's first web series, Make Me Like It created by Professor Corrine Collins (English). Make Me Like It approaches diasporic food culture from a lens beyond nostalgia, by taking an irreverent look at what happens when we actually dislike the food we grew up with. In the series' 10+ minute episodes, Corrine Collins puts a twist on childhood dislikes from her British Jamaican background like Queen of Puddings, canned corned beef, and rock cakes. The series was filmed and directed by Moira Morel (Lincoln Lawyer, The Patient, The L Word: Generation Q). A conversation/Q&A between Corrine and I will follow the screening (which will take about 35 minutes).

Reception to follow!
