Conducted by faculty member Brent McMunn, USC Thornton musicians will perform Gustav Mahler's Piano Quartet in A minor and Arnold Schoenberg's transcription of Mahler's "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen." The USC Thornton performance begins at 7 p.m. and is part of a multi-part program featuring other university ensembles from across Los Angeles. Please review the Los Angeles Philharmonic's website for detailed program information.

Inspired by a 1970s “Mahler Grooves” bumper sticker created by LA Mahler enthusiasts, Dudamel’s love of Mahler is showcased by three programs that explore different aspects of the composer’s works.

The Mahler Grooves Festival is generously supported by the Frank Gehry Fund for Creativity.

Visit the Los Angeles Philharmonic website for tickets. Please be advised that the LA Phil has a policy that no children under 6 years old will be admitted to concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
