Join the Department of American Studies and Ethnicity's Africana Research Cluster in conversation with Dr. Ann Ngoc Tran about her current research on Wednesday, March 25th from 12:30pm - 1:30pm in KAP 445.
Dr. Tran is an interdisciplinary historian of Vietnam's multiple diasporas, with specific interests in boat migrations, Southeast Asian racial economies, and regfugee life/deathworlds at the edge of empire and capital.
The discussion will be followed by an open forum exploring how questions of migration, mobility, and diaspora intersect with key concerns of Africana Studies. Dr. Tran will also share her future plans as she completes her postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA. Light Refreshments Provided. Please RSVP by Monday, March 23rd at this link.
