The Department of American Studies & Ethnicity’s Creativity, Theory, Politics (CTP) Research Cluster cordially invites you to join us on Saturday, Nov. 6th at 4:30 PM for a transformative Looking and Listening workshop with artist Jennifer West.

Inspired after filmmaker and professor James Benning’s CalArts course, this event will present an exercise in his practice of “Looking and Listening.” Please join us at Rattlesnsake Park on Fletcher Drive for this two-hour workshop at the LA River. Dress warm and comfortably. This event is free and open to the public.

Prior to the workshop, please review the pre-circulated reading material found online (https://www.frieze.com/article/life-film-james-benning). For more information on the CTP cluster or to RSVP, please contact Ana Briz at briz@usc.edu

Jennifer West is Associate Professor of Practice of Fine Art and Director of MFA Art at the Roski School of Art and Design at USC.
