Join the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services (RSVP) and the Latinx/Chicanx Center for Advocacy and Student Affairs (La CASA) for a conversation about machismo.

 

Discussion topics will include:

  • Prevalence of sexual and intimate partner violence in Latinx/e communities
  • The ways unhealthy masculinity/machismo manifests itself in Latinx/e communities and the trauma/effects it has on men, women, and gender-expansive individuals
  • Unpacking Latinx/e parenting and disciplining styles across different genders and the role religion plays in parenting and disciplining children of different genders
  • How to shift thinking to prevent violence (prevention vs intervention)
