METRANS 2019 Speaker Series

What do actors and business leaders have in common? They both need to improvise.
This workshop series inspires and empowers participants to create positive change in their lives, their communities and the world.
“Leaders today are operating in organizations that face tremendous uncertainty, an accelerated pace of change and disruption. The days of stable and predictable organizations are, for the most part, behind us,” says Geffner. “Willingness to experience discomfort and learn continuously are essential. Improvisation, which comes from the discipline of drama and theater, is designed to put people in situations in which they must be present, feel vulnerable, and learn in the moment.”

Carol J. Geffner, Ph.D. is Professor of the Practice of Governance, Management and Policy at the Sol Price School of Public Policy and Director of the Executive Master of Leadership Program. She is well known for her thought leadership and advisory work with multi-sectorial organizations on improving human and organizational performance and the capacity for sustainable success.

RSVP required. For more information, contact Dr. Victoria Deguzman at [email protected].
