Kayla de la Haye, USC Keck Department of Population and Public Health Sciences:
Social networks, health behaviors, and health disparities
Abstract: This talk will address two questions: (1) What is social network analysis, and what theory, constructs, and terminology are used in this work?; and (2) How is social network analysis applied to better understand and address health behaviors and health disparities? To address these questions, I'll describe social network research that looks at a breadth of social phenomena relevant to health (e.g., social influence, social contagion, social isolation, and social support), and will make clear the unique contributions of social network analysis in health research and interventions.
