ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Has the Earth always been believed to revolve around the sun?
Before We Revolved Around the Sun examines the gendered logic embedded in normalized structures. Through a critical engagement with language, symbols, and everyday conventions commonly perceived as neutral, the exhibition reveals how patriarchal power is quietly naturalized.
By making visible forms of everyday violence, the exhibition encourages alternative possibilities for female presence, refusal, and becoming.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
