USC Thornton's two largest jazz ensembles share the bill on this Jazz Night at Carson.

The USC Thornton Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of faculty member Bob Mintzer, is at the forefront of large jazz ensemble music. Frequently collaborating with high-profile artists, the ensemble features celebrated musicians, composers and arrangers.

The USC Concert Jazz Orchestra, led by trombonist Jon Hatamiya, features both original music and classic jazz literature. The band regularly performs tribute concerts of well-known musicians, as well as their annual video game concert.
