Join us for the Retired Faculty Association’s Intellectual Journey with Professor Emerita Pierrette Hondagneu-Sotelo. Dr. Pierrette Hondagneu-Sotelo will lead a presentation and discussion detailing his academic career.
Pierrette Hondagneu-Sotelo was the Florence Everline Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology at the University of Southern California, where she is now Professor Emerita. Her research has examined how Latino immigrants negotiate challenges with informal sector work, varied legal status, and changing gender, family and community relations. As the author or editor of ten books, her research has been supported with fellowships from the Rockefeller Foundation for the Humanities, the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center, UCSD’s Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies, the Getty Research Institute and the School for Advanced Research in Santa Fe, NM.
