https://www.andover.edu/about/outreach/irtAre you interested in a career in education? Have you been considering earning a Master's degree or a Ph.D.? Are you passionate about issues of equity and access in education, and social justice? Do you aspire to work at a K-12 school, or a college or university? If so, then the Institute for the Recruitment of Teachers (IRT) could help you apply to graduate school!
The Institute for the Recruitment of Teachers (IRT) aims to address the lack of diversity in our national education system by helping students of color and students who are committed to issues of social justice in education pursue advanced degrees on their paths to careers as educators, administers, and counselors in K-12 schools and higher education institutions. Every year we work with over 100 students as they navigate the graduate school application process, from deciding which programs to apply to all the way through making a matriculation decision. Some of the most significant advantages of applying to graduate programs with the IRT includes access to application fee waivers, advising on application materials, and the option to participate in a discounted GRE prep course. Since the early 1990’s, IRT has built a consortium of 40 universities who are committed to diversifying their own classrooms by accepting IRT students to their Master’s and Doctorate level programs and offering significant funding packages.
Come speak with Arts & Sciences Programs Specialist Brittany Zorn to learn more about how the IRT could help you apply to graduate school.
