Join SAGE for our final event in our Body Love Month Initiative as we welcome famed Salvadoran poet and body-positive activist Yesika Salgado. To begin, Yesika will read some of her most important texts from her body of work related to her Salvadoran background and her journey towards fat acceptance. Afterward, in a moderated discussion led by Vanessa Villarreal, Yesika will discuss more in-depth how her writing has helped her to forge her own narratives of and about her body that disrupts current representations of plus-size and fat bodies in order to promote body love and liberation.
This event is Co-Sponsored by the Latinx Student Assembly, Speakers Committee, USC Visions and Voices, and the USC Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies.
