Bill and Alice will discuss the historical context and significance of the little-known southern routes of the Underground Railroad, the subject of Alice’s award-winning South to Freedom: Runaway Slaves to Mexico and the Road to Civil War.
Mexodus, a new musical coming to the Playhouse this summer, takes up that little-known story in a form very reminiscent of the smash hit Hamilton.
