Join us for a discussion of the 2019 documentary film, Palimpsest of the Africa Museum, with the filmmaker Matthias De Groof and a panel of distinguished scholars. The film documents the renovation of the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Brussels and the discussions of the process of decolonisation that occurred between Afro-descendent advisors guiding the process and museum staff. A link to view the film will be made available on RSVP, and attendees are strongly encouraged to view the film prior to the discussion.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
