Dr. Zhao runs the Humanistic GIS Lab, an area that delves into how GIS and human experiences interact, influencing societal structures, behaviors, and experiences. The main focus of Dr. Zhao’s work is how GIS can be utilized to support vulnerable populations, such as climate refugees, through the ethical and practical use of geospatial technologies and data.
