The goals of this fast-paced, interactive, fun workshop are to practice the hard skills of staying curious, listening, asking questions, and checking our understanding of others’ views, even (and especially) when we disagree AND to better understand others' views on climate.
You will first learn the ABCs of Constructive Dialogue model and then practice using active listening skills in small-group discussions on climate with your fellow USC students, faculty, and staff. Snacks provided.
This workshop is brought to you by Urban Rural Action, a national grassroots movement that brings Americans together across differences to address our country's most urgent challenges. Joe Bubman, Executive Director of Urban Rural Action, will lead the workshop.
Partners include Bridge Entertainment Labs, Social Cohesion Lab, USC Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, and USC Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability.
This event is being held in affiliation with the National Week of Conversation. #DisagreeBetter
The conversation precedes the 7:00 pm screening of the Social Cohesion Lab documentary made by USC alum Ben Stillerman called "True False Hot Cold." Register for that event separately at https://calendar.usc.edu/event/true_false_hot_cold_screening.
