Jim serves as the Chair of Brooks Kushman's applied physics practice group as well as the Co-Chair of the chemistry practice group. With over 15 years of patent prosecution experience and degrees in chemistry, biotechnology, electrical engineering and physics, Jim has extensive experience in a broad range of industries that spans across many products and technologies.

Part of the webinar series “From Discovery to Commercialization: Valuable guidance to enhance the success of your startup” that is being presented by the USC Stevens Center for Innovation and the USC Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors. Throughout the 2020-21 academic year the webinars will cover a wide range of topics for USC researchers who are interested in exploring what it takes to have a successful startup. The series will feature guest speakers from a variety of fields, including lawyers, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, startup founders, and more.
