Artificial Intelligence and the Physical Sciences: Beyond Data Science, Autonomous Vehicles and Consumer Preferences
Daniel Schwartz of Nixon Peabody will discuss how Artificial Intelligence impacts research, commercialization and funding within the physical sciences, and in particular, the strength area of USC.  While historically linked to areas such as “big data,” AI continues to expand into other disciplines as researchers understand the efficacy and utility of AI tools.  We will discuss trends in AI within the physical sciences and opportunities to expand intellectual property protections -- and thus quantifiable value – for developments within this space.

Part of the webinar series “From Discovery to Commercialization: Valuable guidance to enhance the success of your startup” that is being presented by the USC Stevens Center for Innovation and the USC Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors. Throughout the 2020-21 academic year the webinars will cover a wide range of topics for USC researchers who are interested in exploring what it takes to have a successful startup. The series will feature guest speakers from a variety of fields, including lawyers, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, startup founders, and more.

This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
