Join us in honoring the countless species lost to climate change with a special ofrenda, a traditional Mexican altar created to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have passed. Typically built for Día de los Muertos, ofrendas are decorated with candles, marigolds, food, photos, and personal items to welcome the spirits of the dead.

Our altar will blend those traditions with elements representing extinct and endangered species such as feathers, leaves, animal figurines, and stories that honor Earth’s rich and fragile ecosystems. Through remembrance and reflection, we invite you to recognize our deep connection to nature and take action for a more sustainable future.

This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
