Join USC Hillel, USC Casden Institute, and the USC Shoah Foundation for a panel discussion in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. More than 75 years after the end of the Holocaust, the genocide of European Jewry remains a touchpoint for modern history, international law, and numerous other fields of study. As we face the passing of the generation of the direct witnesses, and confront new challenges with rising antisemitism, the landscape of Holocaust memory is changing. How can the second and third generation - and beyond - ensure the preservation and relevance of Holocaust memory in a world without direct witnesses?

The panel will feature speakers as well as insights from Holocaust survivor testimony, and will be moderated by Dave Cohn, Allen & Ruth Ziegler Executive Director, USC Hillel.

Featured speakers:

  • Dr. Jennifer Rodgers, USC Shoah Foundation Director of Academic Programs

  • Dr. Steve Ross, Director of USC Casden Center for Jewish Life and son of Holocaust survivors

  • Hillel student leaders
