Melissa Davis, PhD, Director of Morehouse School of Medicine’s Institute of Translational Genomic Medicine, will kick off the HERO Seminar Series at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center on October 20, 2025 from 2-3pm PT in person and virtually. This year’s series theme, Bridging: Genomics and Population Health Across Disparities, invites us to come together for an exploration of why some communities face greater challenges in cancer care. Dr. Davis’s seminar The Grand Challenge of Global Cancer Disparities offers a look at the SAMBAI (Societal, Ancestry, Molecular, and Biological Analyses of Inequalities) program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing global cancer inequities, particularly focusing on populations of African descent. See attached flyer.
