Join us for our inaugural Gender and Sexuality Studies Summer Book Club!

We invite you to read Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds, by adrienne maree brown, and then join us on August 27 to discuss Brown’s vision and consider ways to implement her ideas – and your own!

Prof. Karen Tongson, incoming chair for the USC Dornsife Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Madin Lopez, Black and Latinx genderqueer hairstylist who founded ProjectQ in 2012, will be leading the discussion. Project Q is an LA-based non-profit that provides free haircuts and self-empowerment workshops to LGBTQIA+ youth of color experiencing homelessness. ProjectQ uses hair as a form of social justice, and self care as an access point to dignity.

Zoom link will be shared with registered attendees on the day of the event. You must register in order to attend.
