Description:
Join Natasha Rudenko—photographer and teacher at UCLA Extension and the New York Film Academy, CEO of Post Angeles, and Secretary of the Ukrainian Culture Center—for a discussion on the vital role of grassroots organizations and nonprofits in providing services to diasporic communities in cities without a consulate. Rudenko will share stories and photographs from her recent trip to Eastern Ukraine, where she visited villages directly impacted by the war. The event will be moderated by Nicholas J. Cull, USC Annenberg professor and founding director of the master’s program in public diplomacy, and will conclude with a discussion on Ukraine, Russia, and the nonprofit sector—exploring how grassroots organizations support communities and fill critical gaps in assistance.
Guests will also enjoy traditional varenyky (Ukrainian dumplings) and compote, a refreshing berry drink.
