Title: (Affine) Knots, Positroids, and Catalan numbers

Abstract: We discuss a connection between algebraic geometry, knot theory, and bijective combinatorics. To do so, we discuss positroid varieties, HOMFLY polynomials, and Catalan numbers. We also mention what happens when we make everything "affine". This talk is based on work of Galashin and Lam, as well as my own. Little background will be assumed for this talk.
