Dr. Josef Leitmann Lead Disaster Risk Management Specialist for The World Bank, presented by the USC Price School and the USC Dornsife Department of Political Science.

The World Bank is the premier source of public finance for development but it is also a large and unwieldy bureaucracy. How is it possible to innovate and reform in such a large and powerful institution? Dr. Joe Leitmann, who has worked at the Bank since the 1980s, will seek to answer this question through his experiences with clean energy, urban environmental management, tropical forestry, disaster risk management, climate change, and urban resilience.
