About the Exhibition
Priroda is a Bulgarian word that signifies nature, but when pulled apart denotes ‘with our root’ or ‘with our ancestors’. When we are in nature we are with our ancestors, rooted in the land despite the diaspora and disconnection we may have experienced. Using sculpture and photography, this show explores the relationship between ancestry, mysticism, and our relationship to land.
