Join us for a lecture by madison moore, on madison's current project, A MANIFESTO FOR QUEER NIGHTLIFE, a book about rave scenes and queer of color undergrounds.
madison moore is an assistant professor of Critical Studies in the Roski School of Art and Design at USC. madison holds a PhD in American Studies from Yale University and has previously held positions at Virginia Commonwealth University, The New School, the University of Richmond and King’s College London, and has also been a visiting guest artist at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. They are broadly invested in the aesthetic, sonic and spatial strategies queer and trans people of color use to both survive and thrive in the face of rolling catastrophe.
madison will be in conversation with Edwin Hill, Associate Professor of French and Italian and American Studies and Ethnicity at USC. Hill is the author of Black Soundscapes White Stages (Johns Hopkins UP, 2013) and is curretly working on a project entitled Black Static and the French Republic of Sound.
