Chinese American Contributions to the Fabric of America
Committee of 100 presentation by John Chiang, Former State Treasurer of CA
Join the USC East Asian Studies Center for the presentation, "From Foundations to Frontiers," a landmark study of the enduring contributions of Chinese Americans to American society from the 1800s to today. The evidence-driven study details the contribution across the following seven industries: Arts & Culture, Civil Rights, Public Service and Politics, Business Leadership & Entrepreneurship, Infrastructure, Military & National Security, Public Health, and Science & Technology.
This virtual presentation will provoke curiosity and offer a new perspective on Chinese American contributions while identifying, quantifying, and showcasing the contributions of the Chinese American community through data and storytelling.
EASC Director, Sonya Lee, will introduce a Committee of 100 member and former State Treasurer of California, John Chiang, who is a Fall 2020 Fellow with the USC Center for the Political Future and a member of the USC Price Board of Councilors. This presentation will be followed by a discussion with USC Associates Chair in Social Sciences and Professor of Political Science and Gender and Sexuality Studies, Jane Junn, and an opportunity for audience Q&A.
Please register if you would like to attend.
