Join us for our second annual celebration of the Silk Road! Enjoy artmaking activities, live storytelling, and music and dance performances inspired by the diverse cultures connected through the ancient trade route. Explore our permanent gallery, Crossroads: Exploring the Silk Road, and participate in a fabric dumpling making workshop with our friends from the Armory Center for the Arts. Free admission all day!

About  “Emotional Dumplings” Workshop 
Join artist Yeu Q. Nguyen in a workshop inspired by her Empathy Table social practice fiber art project, now on view at Armory Center for the Arts as part of their “At the Table” exhibition. Participants will learn how to make their own “emotional dumplings”, fabric dumplings stuffed and marked with difficult emotions. After participating in the workshop, head over to the Armory to view the exhibition and see the “emotional dumpling” installation created in the artist’s other workshops. Space is limited and sign ups are on a first come, first-served basis.

The mission of Clazzical Notes is to create engaging, educational and experiential music and artistic performances that foster community understanding across diverse cultures, genres and generations. ​Clazzical Notes stages music programs that are designed to achieve three goals: engaging individuals through high-quality musical performances; educating audiences through information about culture, history and musical genres; and experiencing unique levels of audience interaction with performers

About USC Traditional Chinese Dance
Established in 2005, TCDance at USC is a non-profit organization that serves as an inspirational body to encourage further awareness for Chinese dance as well as to provide inspiration to communities everywhere. The purpose of TCDance at USC is to explore, promote, and educate the public about Chinese culture and Chinese traditional and folk dance by performing at on- and off-campus events along with philanthropic events for the surrounding community.

About Barbara G Wong
Barbara began sharing her love of stories as an Artist-in-the-Schools for the Hawaii State Dept. of Education and for the University of Hawaii cultural outreach program. She was also a resident storyteller for the Honolulu Zoo, and developed & led walking & culinary tours of Honolulu's Chinatown. She now shares her multicultural tales with audiences of all ages in schools, libraries, museums and festivals throughout southern California...and thanks to Zoom, with northern California and throughout the United States. Her timeless tales, filled with wonder, humor and wisdom, speak to the hearts of young and old alike.
