Prof. Rebecca Comay (University of Toronto)

Rebecca Comay is a Professor of Philosophy and Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto, where she is also an associate member of the German Department and the Centre for Jewish Studies.   She is also a Professor of Philosophy at the European Graduate School (EGS).   She has published widely on continental philosophy, psychoanalysis, literature, and contemporary art, and is the author of Mourning Sickness: Hegel and the French Revolution (Stanford, 2011), the co-author (with Frank Ruda) of The Dash — the Other Side of Absolute Knowing (MIT, 2018), and  has edited or co-edited three volumes: Hegel and Resistance (Bloomsbury, 2018), Lost in the Archives (Alphabet City, 2002) and Endings: Questions of Memory in Hegel and Heidegger (Northwestern, 1999).  She is currently working on two books, one on the temporality of deadlines, the other on dramaturgy and dialectic (in Hegel and others).
