https://dornsife.usc.edu/emsi/seminar-series/emsi-annual-conference/The USC-Huntington Early Modern Studies Institute's Annual Conference for 2023 is "Women of Art and Science in the Early Modern World." Organized by Daniela Bleichmar (USC Professor of Art History and History) and Nicole LaBouff (LACMA, Curator, Department of Costumes and Textiles) this two-day conference will take place at the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Garden on November 10 and 11, 2023. The program will bring together scholars whose work examines the connections between gender, art, and science in the early modern period (ca. 1450–1850); it will have a global purview and some inroads into the modern period.
