The USC-Huntington Early Modern Studies Institute European History Seminar will host a meeting with Margaret Schotte, Associate Professor in the Department of History at York University, Toronto. Professor Schotte studies early modern history, the history of science and technology, the history of the book and information, maritime history, and colonial trade networks in the Indian Ocean world. Her EMSI seminar paper is titled "'The chest containing all his effects': Material Histories of South Asian Sailors in Brittany, ca. 1750."
