The USC-Huntington Early Modern Studies Institute British History Seminar will host a special meeting titled "Marking Skin in the Early Modern British World" led by Professors Esther Cuenca, Texas A&M University-Victoria, and Craig Koslofsky, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, on November 1.

 

Professor Cuenca specializes in the development of law in English towns from the twelfth to the sixteenth centuries. Her British History Seminar paper is titled "Painted Bodies on Display in the Early Modern World." Professor Koslofsky's current research examines the history of skin in the early modern world. His seminar paper is titled "Skin Marked White in the Early Modern World."
