On March 1, the USC-Huntington Early Modern Studies Institute American Origins Seminar meets with Brian DeLay, Preston Hotchkis Chair in the History of the United States, University of California, Berkeley. Professor DeLay is a scholar of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century North America, specializing in transnational, borderlands, and Native American histories. His paper for this seminar meeting is titled "Belts & Songs: Why the Cherokee went to War against the Colonies in 1776."
