DESCRIPTION:Organizer: Tim Armstrong \n\nThe seminar talks are hosted each
 Friday from 3:30 PM – 5 PM\, Pacific Time in KAP 319. \n\n \n\nIvan A. C
anay is aProfessor of Economics at Northwestern University and I am curren
tly the co-Editor of the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics. I rece
ived my Ph.D. from the Department of Economics at the University of Wiscon
sin – Madison\, and before that I did my undergrad in Economics at Unive
rsidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina. My research interests lie broadly in
econometric theory and its applications. A large part of my research in ec
onometrics has been about inference in partially identified models\, infer
ence with approximate randomization tests\, inference in randomized contro
lled experiments involving covariate-adaptive randomization\, and inferenc
e in models with a small number of clustered data. I have also worked on a
number of other problems\, including empirical likelihood\, selection of
instruments in GMM settings\, testability of completeness conditions\, and
quantile regression\, among others. My most recent work has been on devel
oping new tools for the regression discontinuity design (RDD) and on ident
ification of racial bias through outcome tests in Roy models. For addition
al details go to my research page\, take a look at some of the software pa
ckages I have developed\, watch some of the video lectures I recorded\, or
  glance at my vita.
