Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 12:15pm to 1:30pm

This is a past event.

Lewis Hall (RGL), RGL 101
650 Childs Way, Los Angeles, CA 90089

In the first seminar of the semester, Nora Chin, Transportation Planner from LADOT will talk about their Microtransit Program, LAnow.

Nora Chin is a Transportation Planner with the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation. She secures funding for public transit service and implements new projects such as microtransit and "connected buses" in the City of Los Angeles. Nora is passionate about equity in the accessibility of services. Her background includes affordable housing development and non-profit work. Nora graduated with her Master in City and Regional Planning and Master of Science in Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UC Santa Cruz.

LADOT Transit wants to develop a research framework that provides a baseline assessment, intermediate evaluation and finally, a post-impact evaluation. LADOT Transit believes microtransit has the potential to reduce operating costs, improve efficiency and experience and introduce a new group of people to public transit. As urban mobility trends keep changing, let’s discuss the potential of micro-transit and the innovations happening around this sector.

We hope that many of you in the USC and Price community, aspiring planners and policymakers, will join us for this event!

Lunch will be provided – please RSVP here by Friday, August 24th to secure your spot.
