http://dornsife.usc.edu/dornsifedialogues/Fiery rhetoric between the President of the United States and North Korea’s leader has raised the prospect of a nuclear war between the two nations. USC Dornsife Dean Amber D. Miller will moderate a discussion between retired Army Gen. David Petraeus and David Kang about the likelihood of war and alternatives that could avoid conflict with North Korea.
David Petraeus is a retired U.S. Army four-star general who served as CIA director and commander of U.S. military forces in Afghanistan, among other positions. David Kang is professor of international relations and business and director of the Korean Studies Institute at USC Dornsife.
The Dornsife Dialogues event series was launched by Dean Miller as a forum to explore complex ideas and promote civil discourse within the USC Dornsife community. Led by faculty from a range of fields within the letters, arts and sciences, the Dornsife Dialogues will examine issues of the moment with scholarly depth that affords new perspective and offers insight on the path ahead. All students are invited to participate in these lively conversations.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
