On March 7th and 8th, 2024, USC Gould School of Law will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Professor Bernadette Atuahene’s book, We Want What’s Ours: Learning from South Africa’s Land Restitution Program. Professor Atuahene uses the South African case to develop two socio-legal concepts—dignity takings and dignity restoration–and over forty different scholars have used these concepts to more deeply understand the material and immaterial consequences of property loss. We are gathering several of these scholars at USC Gould School of Law (Faculty Lounge, Rm. 433) for a two-day celebration, including panels, keynote speakers, and lunch. All students, staff, and professors are welcome to attend.
