Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm

This is a past event.

Online Webinar

Speaker: Ryan Watkins, PhD, Professor, George Washington University, Founder of We Share Science and co-host of Parsing Science

Overview:

Dr. Watkins will introduce two platforms that help scientists disseminate their research through today’s more accessible online media.

1. He will explain how researchers are using the online platform We Share Science to create and share video abstracts about their science, and he will highlight examples of successful use cases of using the platform as part of a broader communications and dissemination strategy.

2. He will also show how researchers can work with Parsing Sciencea podcast where researchers share the unpublished stories behind their scientific discoveries. From unexpected challenges to surprising results, researchers breakdown the scientific process to tell the stories that don’t make it into research journals. Dr. Watkins will share examples, lessons learned, and advice on reaching new audiences.
