About this Event
3502 Watt Way, Los Angeles, CA 90089
Maya Washington, daughter of legacy football player Gene Washington, spent many years researching her father's impact on the sport. She developed a film to track the results of her research. She screened her documentary, Through the Banks of the Red Cedar, at USC in early 2020 as part of Visions and Voices programming.
In this discussion with USC Annenberg faculty members Dan Durbin and Julianna Kirschner, Washington will share her current sports research with the USC community. She will discuss name, image, and likeness (NIL) for legacy athletes and the importance of NIL as an acknowledgement of their contributions to their respective sports.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
