Human-centered design and design thinking are practices that, when done in the right ways, can spark meaningful social innovation. Applied qualitative research, including ethnographic methods, is central to good design.

This talk will explore three important trends in design for health: centering equity, democratizing design, and integrating design with adjacent practices. It will touch on my experiences in global health and domestic public health, and more recently in developing technology to improve the mental health and well-being of young people.

This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
