The Molecular Imaging Center (MIC), Department of Radiology Presents our Speaker for a Special MIC Seminar Series: Preclinical and Basic Research Using Imaging-Based Analysis

Lumbar fusion in an athymic rat is an established model for pre-clinical evaluation of bone graft substitutes in spine surgery. In this seminar, the findings of our experiments with cellular and acellular bone matrices will be presented, along with the implications of micro-CT findings in understanding the bone formation capacity of different graft substitutes. In light of these findings, future directions of osteobiologics research will be discussed.
