USC and Amgen have partnered to create a new cryo-EM imaging facility on the USC University Park campus in Los Angeles.  Since the facility opening last summer, we have been waiting to formally celebrate the center and the new partnership that this facility represents for the university with Amgen and Thermo Fisher Scientific.  We therefore are delighted to announce a one-day symposium at the USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience to introduce the partnership and hear about the very latest work in cryo-EM from across Southern California.  The meeting aims to bring together experts in applying cryo-EM, from universities and industry, as well as the broad constituency of researchers across life sciences fields interested in applying this revolutionary technology to their work.

The full day scientific symposium will feature a keynote presentation from Wolfgang Baumeister (Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Munich).  Additional technical talks will be given by Tamir Gonen (UCLA), Edward Pryor (Thermo Fisher Scientific), Philip Tagari (Amgen), Xiaomin Chen (Amgen), Paul Seidler (USC), Gabriel Lander (Scripps), Cornelius Gati (USC) and Rebecca Vorhees (Caltech).

In person attendance is by invitation only, but all are welcome to participate via Zoom. Please see attached program and links below for more details.
