The COVID-19 pandemic has generated an extraordinary amount of data in a short period of time, enabling the rapid  generation and dissemination of related research. Six months after the mid-March declaration of a worldwide pandemic, this is an appropriate moment to take stock of extant work, projects in progress, and the unanswered questions that motivate new research.

The Center for Economic and Social Research is organizing a COVID-19 Work in Progress Conference on October 29 and 30.

We are inviting submissions of abstracts from all disciplines on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on households around the world. Suggested themes may include but are not restricted to

  • Protective and adaptive behaviors
  • Effects on physical, mental and social health and well-being
  • Impacts on the social determinants of health
  • Disparities in health and economic outcomes across different socio-economic and demographic groups
  • Use and trust of information sources
  • Policy impacts and variation across jurisdictions

The conference format will consist of brief presentations with ample time for discussion, with potential parallel sessions grouped by topic depending on the nature of submissions received.
