The Harvard College Consulting Group (HCCG) is incredibly excited to invite you to Consult for a Cause, an all-day virtual consulting hackathon taking place Friday, April 30th from 9:00 AM ET to 5:00 PM ET in collaboration with NAACP Boston! The event will include a consulting information session from the event’s sponsor, Bain & Company.

The Boston Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the oldest chartered branch of the NAACP, the pre-eminent civil rights organization fighting to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights and there is no racial hatred or racial discrimination.

Our goal is to bring together the brightest young minds from across the nation to tackle real strategic challenges facing NAACP Boston. The day-long event will include opportunities to develop and showcase problem-solving skills, interact with representatives from the NAACP, attend an informational session with leading consulting firm Bain and Company, and engage with like-minded students.

Participants will spend the day working in teams of 3 - 6 members to produce a short slide deck summarizing research and key insights. At the event’s conclusion, all teams will present their findings to HCCG’s Board. The top four finalist teams - two teams for each prompt - will have the opportunity to present to the leaders of NAACP Boston.

Choose one of two available prompts. More information regarding the prompts will be released the day before the event.

How can NAACP Boston leverage a multi-channel internal messaging approach as well as external promotion through social media, press releases, and its website to further engage its current volunteers and boost widespread brand awareness?

How can NAACP Boston leverage social media, community outreach, and membership events to strengthen its youth engagement, both by growing its membership among Millennials and Gen Z, and empowering youth leaders to lead policy activism?

Create guaranteed impact by just showing up! If the hands-on problem-solving opportunity hasn’t sold you yet: every participant who registers and presents will add $30 to HCCG’s donation to NAACP Boston, up to $3,000. By participating, you are making a tangible difference. We hope to see you there!
