Conserving and Cultivating Catalina’s Ocean Treasures

Catalina’s coastal waters play host to a thriving community of marine organisms. In this webinar, you’ll learn about Wrigley Institute research to conserve local marine life and explore its potential for sustainable solutions. Dr. David Ginsburg will discuss his work surveying species in Catalina’s Blue Cavern Onshore State Marine Conservation Area, and Dr. Diane Kim will provide an update on the first 100-day ocean farming trial of the Wrigley Institute’s Kelp Biofuel Project with industry partner Marine BioEnergy.

• Dr. David Ginsburg is an Associate Professor (Teaching) and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the USC Dornsife Environmental Studies Program.
Dr. Diane Kim is a research scientist at the USC Wrigley Institute and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the USC Dornsife Environmental Studies Program
