This POSC 395 professional development event is on Wednesday, October 22 at 10:30 am at the CPF office in SOS B15. The event is open to all students. Students enrolled in POSC 395 must attend at least two professional development events throughout the semester. 

Join us for a coffee talk with Lauren Harper Pope, Founder of consulting firm CityBright and Co-Founder of The Welcome Party and WelcomePAC. An expert in political and communications strategy, Lauren previously served as South Carolina State Director for former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s presidential campaign, as Policy and Communications Advisor for Columbia (SC) Mayor Steve Benjamin and as an aide to (SC) Sen. Mia McLeod.

In the 2022 election cycle, Lauren served as Coordinated Campaign Director for the Texas Democratic Party & Beto for Texas and led coordinated (hard side) PAC work with more than a dozen WelcomePAC candidates in Ohio and California.

Lauren serves on the Boards of SC Women in Leadership and Bluebonnet Data. Lauren is an alumna of the University of South Carolina.
