About this Event
Women physicians earn 72 cents on the dollar compared with their male colleagues. Gender pay disparities in medicine are trending in articles, but a robust discussion on solutions for the situation has been missing from the conversation. Dr. Amy Gottlieb, Editor of Closing the Gender Pay Gap in Medicine: A Roadmap for Healthcare Organizations and the Women Physicians Who Work for Them, will discuss how cultural expectations and traditional compensation methodologies in medicine work together to perpetuate the gender pay gap. She will also offer strategies for creating new approaches that better account for the unique contributions of women and the biases facing them.
