Center for Law History and Culture Presesnts: Workshop- Meredith Hall (USC)
Wednesday, January 26, 2022 12pm to 1pm
About this Event
CLHC is happy to announce the launch of our second semester. We have many exciting events planned, starting with one of this year’s postdoctoral fellows in USC’s Society of Fellows in the Humanities, Meredith Hall. Meredith comes to us from the New School for Social Research where she completed her PhD in Sociology in 2021. She will be workshopping her paper “Property and Its Provenance: A Case Study of the Emergence of Ownership,” a theory of how property rights are established derived from her work on how color has been propertized in the context of trademark law, which is the subject of her forthcoming book, Properties of Color: How Corporations Came to Own the Visible Spectrum. This event will be on zoom. (Details below).
